- I have experience with both modems (USR Sportster, the older model
- without the flash ROM, and SupraExpress PnP internal).
-
- I have these modems installed on my computers at home. I have very
- good experience with both and would say that am satisfied with both.
- Each has their own pluses and minuses. I get solid connects with the
- Sportster, and have never experienced a line drop-out. The
- SupraExpress also get very good connect speeds, but seems to be less
- tolerant of noisy lines. There have been cases (specific BBSes) where
- the carrier dropped leaving me hanging up in the middle of a session.
- A big plus that I noticed with my Supra is that I seem to get faster
- average transfer rates. I get 3000+ cps very easily with the Supra,
- while my Sportster usually hovers at around 2900+ cps only, while
- transferring files from a favorite BBS.
